Gettin' Up to Speed.
Speed requires horsepower, and horsepower needs to keep it's
cool. To that end, an Indy Speedster aluminum radiator from Be Cool will
be put to work.
The top of Be Cool's "Indy speedster" radiator is
almost too cool to cover up with grill shell. This particular radiator was
custom built to our size specifications for this project.
Normally, using the Deuce Steel frame requires a modified
grill shell to allow for the shorter distance distance between the frame
horns. Because we have elimnated the horns forward of the suspension brackets
we do not need to "pinch" the lower portion of the grill, but
since it will be exposed we want to round off the lower half of the grill
so it will match the top.
In addition to rounding off the bottom grill profile, we have
shortened the grill to bring the bottom up close to the level of the suspension
mounts.
The grill shell is from California Roadster Co.
A one-piece Rootlieb hood top will be used along with a Dan
Fink double hood hinge kit.
These Wizard Fabrication steering offsets make it easy to
keep your steering linkage simple and clean. Add soome Flaming River u-joints
and you are all set to go.
A Be Cool electric fan and fan shroud will allow the radiator
to keep things cool a low revs.
