The Great Journey

Mark Sweeney owns a bitchin’ ’32 roadster that caught the eye of famed hot rod photographer Peter Vincent awhile back. Peter felt that Mark’s roadster was the perfect subject to be photographed at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.  Peter and Mark came to an agreement and Mark would bring the car to the salt flats in August during the SCTA Speed Week event.

Due to time constraints, Mark trailered the car to Bonneville, but first some safety issues needed to be addressed. During a “Bumper to Bumper” inspection at Hot Rods & Custom Stuff, a leak was discovered in the roadster’s fuel tank. The leak was in an area that made it impractical to attempt a repair. Hot Rods & Custom Stuff had a new ’32 Ford fuel tank in stock, but it needed to be primed and painted before the car could be considered “camera-ready”.
