Runnin' Cool
Keeping the LS-1 Corvette engine cool was a major concern
because of the engine cowl that will be fitted over it. To do the job correctly,
we decided on a custom-built aluminum radiator from Ron Davis. For shedding
heat, nothing beats aluminum.
To accomodate to low profile of the car's front end, the radiator
is mounted at about a 10 degree slant. Inlet and outlet tubes for the radiator
were custom fabricated in the shop. The overflow is from Vintique and mounted
along the left side,
Dual electric fans fitted into a custom made shroud will pull
cooling air through the radiator.
The radiator is filled by a cap in the return line. All of
the line fittings used on the car, some of which can be seen here are from
Earl's. This includes fittings used for fuel, brake and vacuum lines.
