Tailgate First.
Scott, after looking at the front fenders, decides to ease
into the project by doing the tailgate first.
A Chevy pickup just wouldn't be the same without "Chevrolet"
stamped into the tailgate, so we're going to rectify that.
In case you're wondering where we got the "Chevrolet"
panel with the classic lettering, it came out of an original 1953 tailgate
(new/old stock).
The trick of this installation is lies in the curvature of
the SSR tailgate. Original '52 tailgates were flat. A lot of care had to
be taken to matcht curves without over-bending it. Because of the lettering
, you can't just throw it on an English Wheel to get the job done.
Very cool!
