Bob That Sled!
When some people have too much rear end, they get lipo-suction.
When we have too much rear end, we cut it off!
First we chopped off the rear frame horns and kicked up the
rear rails. Now we have to modify the body to match. This modification was
done in concert with the modification of the rear wheel wells. It begins
by cutting out the bottom half of the rear panel.
The panel section that was removed was chopped about 3 -inches
and re-installed.
The bottom of the rear panel will be rolled under using steel
tubing cut in half.
A new streamlined rear-end requires new taillights. The ones
we'll use are 47-48 passenger / 42-47 Ford truck lights from Bob Drake.
We want to French these taillights, so we'll make the recesses
on the bench and weld them into the new rear panel.
Looking Good!
