Wheels & Reveals.
One of the hallmarks of a "traditional" roadster
are big wheels in the back. The problem is that those big wheels hide those
neat looking reveal lines. We want to have our cake and eat it, too. Therefore
we are going to make new reveal lines to match the tires we want.
How low can we go?
Since we plan to bob the rear of the car, we need to chop
off those excess rear rails and kick them up so that the roadster will hug
the ground front and back. The Deuce Steel frames already gives the roadster
a lower stance in front--now the front and rear will bel level.
A piece of press board cut to the diameter of the tire we
will be using is used as a template for construction of the new rear wheel
reveals.
With the new reveals worked into a sheetmetal blank, Scott
cuts out the old wheel well.
