Dashing Along
The dash is coming along and can see how the contours will
flow around both sides.
Before welding them into place, the vertical sections of sheetmetal
on the drivers side is removed in order to place the steering column and
make sure that it is properly aligned with the console. The column is from
ididit, and is wrapped in masking tape to keep it from being scratched.
With the steering column in place, the dash pieces which have
been notched, are put back in place. Drawings on paper being used to test
ideas for instrument placement. You can also see in these pics that they
have finished installing the transmission tunnel.
Here you can see the cuts mad for the steering column. You
also see where cuts have been made to sepparate the door panels from the
dash (arrows).
The top of the dash is constructed to lift off to allow access
behind the dash.
