The problem with electric window and locks is the wiring. Usually, this requires drilling holes in the door jams and routing the wires through an ugly piece of conduit or routing them through the hinge openings in some way.

One of our fabricators, Andy Carter, came up with a novel solution that hides the wires while routing them through the hinge opening--or in this case, through the hinge itself.
