The photo on the left shows what the firewall looked like when the car rolled into the shop. The photo on the right shows what it looked like under the bondo. Unfortunately, this type of "restoration" is not uncommon. Bang it close and spackle it over.

Here's what it looks like after a proper repair.

The new front clip won't need all that open space, so we closed up the original suspension cut-outs. This will give the engine a cleaner appearance.
