What would a custom Hot Rod be without a flipped hood? Although
there are plenty of great flip kits out there, this is a custom job all
the way. Our fabrication wizard, Jordan (left), spent many hours and tried
endless combinations before settling on the design you see here. Every piece
is hand machined.
This is one of the tougher parts of the job, getting all the
geometry right so that the hood will open and close properly and look right
Although this part looks simple, it actually posed more problems
than the swing arm. The trick being to get the hood corners to latch snugly
into place while keeping all the parts minimized in size and appearance.
Getting the geometry right means that when the hood is open,
it is also balanced well enough to stay open on its own. A small hood prop
has been added here for safety.
