Not only is the idea to get the car low to the ground, we needed to get the driver down as low as he could go. That meant cutting out the floor and rebuilding it from scratch.

The seat, too, will be scratch built to fit the design of the car.

Not only is the car custom built, it is custom built for this driver. Seating, driving position, steering wheel placement, gearshift, etc., all have to be located in the optimum position for Mr. Richards.
