Les appears to be pretty happy with his little green '32 Deuce Roadster. The car used to belong to Randy who got a great deal on it because it was not running (a broken torque tube and some improperly installed parts were to blame). After a few repairs and some clean up, Randy sold it to Les.
The motor is a dual-quad '57 Corvette 283 and is hooked up to a 39 Ford trans with Zephyr gears and a Centerforce clutch.
That's a real Auburn Dash panel with the original Stewart-Warners still in place. Les added a Stewart-Warner Wings Tach to the left of the dash. The green Naugahyde tuck 'n' roll interior is the same as it was in the 50's, being in such excellent condition that it only needed a little clean-up.
The paint is 57-58 Pontiac green and required just a little rubbing to bring it back to its original luster. The rear taillights are from a 50 Pontiac as well. Except for the new BF Goodrich tires, this is the same car it was fifty years ago - and its still a driver.
This deuce is just about as traditional as a Hot Rods gets. It ain't flashy, but it exudes a coolness that money can't buy. Just ask Les' buddy, who refused to get out of the car during the visit - why stand around with your hands in your pockets when you can sit in that little beauty.
