Top Chop - 29 Ford
Like all these early coupes, they tend to look a bit funky
till you chop them to a reasonable height. This one is going to get about
2-inches taken off the top. The first step is to remove the chicken wire.
It's a good idea to draw the line you're going to cut and
make sure it's straight and even.
Bracing is required to keep everything from getting twisted
out of shape during the process.
A strip of 2-inch wide masking tape is wrapped around the
top using the drawn line as a reference. Then 1-inch wide tape is laid using
the edges of the first tape as a guide before is removed. The metal between
the two strips of tape is what will be removed.
