Winner's Circle
This last Cruisin' Grand of 2004 was sponsored by Casino Pauma
who supplied the awards.
First up was Rick Lahaise from Bonsal with this very bad ass
1970 Dodge Charger. It's all original except for the upgraded 440 motor
and Rick did all the work himself.
Next up was Wally Jewell from Poway. His self-built '36 3-window
sporting a buick nail-head motor caught more than one judges eye.
Mike McKinney drove out from Oceanside for his award in this
'26 Ford Zipper Lakes Modified roadster with a 385 SB.
Our very own Andrew Gonzales drove straight from this shop,
where he picked up his car for the first time, to Cruisin' Grand for the
first of many awards were sure he'll win. Judging from the expression on
his face, getting an award the first day he drove his new hot rod is a Nirvana
all it's own. His '29 Model A Ford is one wicked street rod that you will
all be seeing more of.
Tom Geiman's restored (almost) to stock '61 Impala with 409-inches
under the hood was worthy of recognition. Being from Escondido tom didn't
have far to drive, but were sure he made it in record time.
With a name like Delco Hagan, it's no wonder he's into hot
rods. Delco's 56 Chevy Convertible is one fine cruiser for a warm summer
night, especially with 350/350 combo running under that classic veneer.
If cruisin' with the top down ain't your thing, this 56 Chevy
can really turn up the heat with its fuel-injected 502 BB. This flamed beauty
is belongs to Jan Newman from Riverside.
