April 28th, 2002, was the day that Hot Rods & Custom Stuff
held its Second Annual "Casino Cruise." The turn out was good
and so was the weather.
The Cruise started at 7am at Hot Rods & Custom Stuff,
where the coffee and donuts flowed free for anyone in need of a pre-run
sugar or cafein fix. Randy and the rest of the crew gave visitors tours
of the shop and explained the different projects we are currently working
on.
Between mouthfuls of donuts and coffee, Gary and Mike helped
customers with their parts requests.
Visitors got free tickets for door prizes like t-shirts and
die-cast hot rods. There was also a 50/50 raffle that raised just over $300
- half going to the raffle winners and half to the Escondido Fellowship
Center.
Around 9am everyone headed for their cars to get the cruise
underway.
The first stop was Valley Center Casino where we spent about
45 minutes throwing change in the machines, throwing a few dice, and spinning
the ol' wheel of fortune. We then visited Rincon, Pauma, and Pala Casinos
- spending about 45 minutes at each of them as well.
The Cruise ended at Pala Casino where most decided to have
lunch before heading home.
