Sunday, July 1st, 2001 was the first ever Hot Rods & Custom
Stuff Casino Cruise.
For those of you that did not participate, a great time was
had by all. In all, we rounded up about 120 cars for a cruise that made
the rounds of the Valley View, Rincon, Pauma, Pala and Pechanga Casinos.
Don't despair if you missed it though - this cruise was such a success that
we plan to make it annual, or possibly bi-annual event. As soon as we know
when the next is, we'll post information on our site.
The Cruise, sponsored by Hot Rods & Custom Stuff and the
Time Travelers of San Diego began at 8 a.m. with an Open House at HR&CS,
where free donuts and coffee were consumed in great quantities (caffeine
and sugar being the high-test fuels of choice among true hot rodders). Fueling
continued until 10, when everybody climbed aboard their ride of choice and
lit out for the first reservation.

The weather for the cruise was great (a bit hot and humid,
but bearable). The route was an easy and senic drive through San Diego's
hills and back-country roads. Hot Rods provided a truck and car hauler in
case anyone had problems along the way, but no one did.
