1964 Chevrolet Chevelle - Assembly, Cont.
With new parts from the "Car Shop" and new canvas
from our upholstery shop, the convertible top is almost ready to go.
Seat and window controls.
Digital disply "Nexus" gauges from Autometer not
only look cool, but they are easier to read than standard mechanical guages.
In the middle of the dash is a Kenwood, combo GPS, CD/DVD
player, Sirius Radio player.
Controls for the airbag system are hidden inside the center
consol. The remote unit on top of the consol controls the Kenwood system.
Shifting the Chevelle is done with MasterShift paddle shifters
embedded in the leather grips of the Momo GTR 2 Steering wheel. If you want
to know what gear you are in, simply take a look at the rear view mirror
(the shift indicator is in the upper right corner). The auto-dimming mirror
from Mito Corp also has a compass among its many features.
Fesler makes this black anodized billet hood hinge which eliminates
the bulky stock spring and hinge set-up.
One of the great pains of opening a hood is searching for
the safety-catch release. To eliminate that problem, we have made a custom
push-button release using a flush mounted hinge assembly from Rocky Hinge.
