2006 Chevrolet SSR - Painting Process
A proper re-paint requires some disassembly. Simply masking,
doing minimal prep work and spraying just doesn't cut it if you was a good
looking paint job that will last. So we begin by removing most of the body
panels and trim. This allows individual pieces to be properly prepped and
painted and avoids those ugly over-sprays and masking lines which are the
hallmark of cheap paint work.
Each piece is thoroughly prepped before it goes into our temperature
controlled paint booth.
Once painted, the pieces are color-sanded with ultra-fine
grit sandpaper to smooth the paints surface before clear-coat is applied.
The final step is to buff everything out and start putting
it all back together.
The "Ocean Green" paint used on this project is
available from PPG Paint.
