489 cubic-inch Pontiac Engine!
What you are looking at is a Butler Performance built 489
cubic-inch, all aluminum Pontiac engine. Butler custom built this beast
especially for Brad and it will produce over 900hp on pump gas. You can

Sending all that power to the Firebirds rearend is a GearStar Perfomance
4L-80E (level 4) Automatic race built transmission. Attached to the
end of that is a Gear Vendor over/under drive unit
According to the folks a Butler, the most challenging part
of this engine build was the design of the serpentine belt system, which
had to operate the alternator, AC, PS, and vacuum pump, and still fit under
the hood.
Attempting to keep this beast cool is a Be Cool aluminum cross-flow radiator with built in transmission
cooler and twin electric fans. As for the water pump, it will be a remote
mounted Meziere electric pump.
